getting creative

I've spent the last few hours downloading all my CD's to my Ipod. It's been quite a task and I'm not even close to being done yet. But I've had lots of time to contemplate life and reflect on things. Nothing too deep but it's been good. I've realized that whether I believe it or not, I am a creative person. I'm a Pisces, so it's required, but I never think of myself that way. I'm too critical of myself and my creations. Nothing is ever good enough, perfection is required. I have to learn to allow for imperfections, in who I am and in what I do. Being perfect is much too difficult...and for those who know me, you know I rarely succeed. So today I tried something new. I tried to write a song, although it's more of a poem. It's short and not very good, but it was inspired by an instrumental song that I downloaded today. I was moved by it and wanted to express myself and this is what I came up with (first draft only)...

Close your eyes
Open your heart
Feel the love
Deep inside

Your lips
Your eyes
Your smile
Open your soul
To the waves of love

Dreams so beautiful
Thoughts so pure
Your warmth and kindness
Carry me forward
To that special place
And time

Where passion blooms
And love endures

Okay, so maybe it's not so bad.
