7 days
My trip to NYC was cancelled for tonight, but hopefully rescheduled for tomorrow night. The organizer had to back out because of a family thing but the weather turned out to be cold and wet so it was probably a good thing. Instead I was able to get off at 5PM - a first! - and relax before heading to the hotel bar for a little something to eat and a frosty beverage. Having the opportunity to relax was exactly what I needed today. No getting lost trying to find a restaurant, no desserts to make my ass grow another 6 sizes and hopefully a chance to get caught up on my blog reading.
On a personal note, I heard from my sister and I may have some good news. I may become an aunt again starting tomorrow. My brother and SIL will be welcoming Baby O into their home and within 7 days, they will know if her mother has changed her mind or not. Baby O is 7 weeks old, and has been in foster care since birth. She has long dark hair and gray/blue eyes, a beautiful mix of Scottish, Jamaican, Italian and something else I can't remember. I just called home and they seem to be doing okay, but trying hard not to get too excited. I can't even imagine how they will handle another heartbreak, but I'm crossing my fingers that they will be able to jump for joy next Thursday. They've decided to approach the next week like it's foster care, especially for Princess M's sake, since she still talks about the previous baby and doesn't really understand what happened. Baby O is 'visiting' and if it becomes permanent, then Princess M gets to become a big sister.
Keep your fingers crossed!
