absence makes the heart grow fonder
I had no idea it had been so long since my last post...please forgive my absence. I've been working way too much and then spent the weekend with Tosa's family - the Tribe as she calls them. I had a lot of fun, and even though I was only 3 hours away, it really felt like a vacation. It was exactly what I needed. I haven't had good, quality family time in a long time and even though they technically are not my family, they are great people and I've known them most of my life. It's as close to family as you can get.
Things are quiet right now at work - only because the database server is down, so no one on my team can do any work. It's a mini vacation, except for the fact that we'll have to stay late to make up for all the time we've wasted. My boss is in town this week so this will be a short post but I had to do something interesting today.
The only exciting thing that's happened to me recently is that I finally booked my flight to California for Tosa's wedding! I had just enough air miles to get there and now all I have to do is pay for the hotels, car rental, food and entertainment. Tosa's Mom and I will be traveling together since we're the only single people invited...I'm hoping we don't drive each other crazy. And I just remembered that she's known for snoring...this could be painful. Anyone got some earplugs??
