In other news...
I did have a good weekend. Once I was set free from the hell that is my job, I was able to get out for dinner Friday with CG and get caught up on all the stuff going on in her life. Then, Saturday revolved around my beloved Cubs. I managed to get to the game, which they lost, and then CG and I were joined by a couple of our new friends Security Guy 1 & 2 for some drinks, pool and food after the game. We ended up staying out until 1:30am and I even tried to give Fenway a long-distance booty call during the cab ride home. He was disappointed he didn't wake up...he wanted the opportunity to laugh at my drunk ass!
Sunday I managed to get up early enough to do my laundry, which was followed by another Cubs game. Considering this was the last weekend they would be in town until next season, I decided I had to go to both games. Thankfully, they managed to beat Houston and we managed to survive the downpour that delayed the game for a while. After the game, CG and I went to chat with SG1 and see how he was recovering from the night before. I guess he only got about 3 1/2 hours sleep before going back to work and actually had to nap once he got to the ballpark. He claims that we're a bad influence on him...he still has no idea how easy he had it that night (yes I can be a little evil sometimes)!
After the game, I was supposed to do some errands but I was so tired that I figured it was best just to rest and then head to Violet's for the season premiere of Desperate Housewives. It was a great night spent with a great bunch of girls. It also helped that we were allowed to stay for Grey's Anatomy as well...Patrick Dempsey is so cute! The show is pretty good as well. Not sure if this will be a weekly event or not, but I had a lot of fun, especially since it had been so long since I'd been able to socialize with anyone. It was nice to have a life again, even if it was for only a couple of days. Any chance the trend will continue? I only worked 10 hours yesterday...I'm hoping for that again today but it may just be wishful thinking.
