I can't explain it

I'm bored. Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored. I've only done about 25 minutes of work today, surpassing yesterday's total of 5 minutes and Monday's total of 10 minutes. It always amazes me how this client goes from one extreme to the next with the workload, although I really shouldn't complain since for the last week or so I've been able to leave by 5pm.

I thought I'd be able to follow my Cubs during the game today but they are playing so badly that I just can't stand it for very long. The score was 8-1 for the Reds in the 4th inning, but at least the pain is almost over. They're pretty much past the point of no return where they can't even win the wild card, so once that happens I can continue on with my life and start to focus on hockey. I have only one more ticket to use for the season and will probably avoid buying any more unless I have nothing better to do. It seems like such a waste to spend $50 to see talented players lose so badly. Maybe next year things will be different...or not.

The only thing keeping me going today has been Fenway. He surprised me by calling on my way into work this morning. We had talked last night about if we should start planning our September visit and I guess the first thing he did this morning was confirm being able to take the time off. Once I was able to confirm getting the same time off, I called him back and he booked his flight to Chicago. He will be back here for Labour Day weekend...a whole 4 days after my visit to him! We actually get to spend two weekends in a row together which hopefully will make up for the 5 weeks apart. I can't wait!!
