get a life

I feel like I'm starting to get my life back...even if it's just a teeny tiny piece of it. For the first time in a really long time I actually went to see a movie! It was great. I was able to leave work at a decent time and I wasn't exhausted, so I called up Cubbie Girl. She suggested being outside somewhere, but I really wanted to do something different...hence the movie. It ended up being a choice between Wedding Crashers and Must Love Dogs and we opted for the chick flick.

When I told Fenway of our choice he just groaned. I guess he hoped I wasn't that kind of girl, but if he had looked at my DVD collection, he would've known the truth....all chick flicks, a couple Harry Potter movies and A Few Good Men thrown in just to mix things up. He's got nothing to worry about though. I refuse to see those types of movies with guys since they just end up ruining it for me. I want to be able to cry (when necessary) without being laughed at or harassed about it later. This movie didn't cause any tears, but there were a few good laughs and some don't do it's along the way.

The one great thing about the movie was that it wasn't geared towards teen girls. It's a movie made for women, one that many women can relate to. It doesn't hurt that John Cusack and Dermot Mulroney were part of the cast, but John is trying very hard not to look his age and looked a little strange this time around. My guess was botox, but CG thought they just used a lot of makeup. Stockard Channing was having issues too...I hope it was the makeup otherwise she needs some serious help. Dermot was as sexy as ever, even with the salt & pepper hair...too bad he played such an ass.

The plan for tonight is to leave work early - again! I guess I should really say leave work on time, since 5pm is not really early is it. Then I'll be meeting up with Caterpillar and her friends to celebrate her birthday and her 2nd interview for the job she really, really wants! It should be a great time and I'm really looking forward to it. I've even got tentative plans for tennis this weekend. It's been so long...I hope I can still play somewhat decently! Not sure what the rest of the week will hold, but I'm looking forward to every moment of free time I get.
