Up close and personal
It's Sunday afternoon and I'm hanging around my place listening to the Cubs game on the radio while CG is in my living room getting a massage. My turn is next so I'm excited! Can it get any better than having a masseur come to your home? I love it!
I also received my Ireland ticket information yesterday in the mail and I'm a little disappointed. I only have a year to use them and they've blocked all of June, July and August and even Dec. 15th to Jan. 10th so I can't even go for New Year's. What does that leave me? September and possibly October. Work will not let me take time off in April or May and I don't think I'd enjoy the weather in November, February or March. The only problem I have with September is that I have to renew my work visa then, so I'll need to take a trip home to deal with the INS. Do I take a chance and go to Ireland first and hope they let me back in or do I go home first and take the chance that they won't let me back in the US and then I can't go to Ireland either? I'm thinking that going to Ireland is more important so I may head there first and take my chances. Now I just have to figure out who to take with me.
Friday night was another great night - I finally got my haircut! One of my readers recommended her brother and it took a while for me to get the courage to go, but I finally did. And he was amazing! First of all, John is cool - a hair messiah according to his business card! Second, his dog Cooper is adorable - a goldendoodle. Third, he does a great, great job. Fourth, they serve wine. Fifth, they are affordable! I've already recommended John to all my friends and for those of you who are also in Chicago, go check out Urban Lift! After the new doo, I headed out to Zella's to meet up with the girls for a drink. I decided to drive down to meet them so I only had a single glass of wine. It's not often that I drive so being in a bar where everyone else has been drinking for hours and I'm sober, it's a very different situation. I had guys offering to buy me drinks but I kept turning them down and I don't think they were comfortable with that. One even just brought me a water because he didn't want me to be empty handed. It was a little weird. I also was a victim of the cockblock. I had been chatting to S earlier in the evening and then I met K. I don't think S was happy I was talking to K because when K went to the bar, S immediately was by my side and talking with me again and wouldn't leave when K came back and was pretty much blocking him with his body. It was hilarious! Eventually S noticed me looking back and forth between the two of them and he asked 'Was that a little too obvious?' and I replied 'Was what too obvious? That cockblock you just pulled? Yeah, just a little.' And that's when he walked away and K was able to come back into play. Either that has never happened before or I was too drunk to notice in the past. No matter what, I couldn't help but laugh about it. Both boys were not really my type but is was just fun to witness.
Time for my massage now!
