The Year of the FireCracker

I don't know how it happened, but I think this is my year! The year to top all years. Either that or just a little luck of the Irish rubbing off on me last night.

I WON 2 ROUND TRIP TICKETS TO IRELAND!!!

I've never won anything except $1 in my life, so how this happened I have no idea. CG, FC2 and I went to the Forever Green event last night and as we were getting our tickets they mentioned the Grand Price was tickets to Ireland. The first thing out of my mouth was that they were going to be mine. I never say something like that and actually mean it. But last night was different - I had confidence and didn't waiver from that thought. The girls just laughed and we went inside thinking nothing of it. The evening was fun but not as good as we were expecting. There may have been a few too many Lincoln Park Trixies or we were just not that into Irish men (sorry guys) or maybe it was the crappy beer, but we just weren't that excited so we ended up leaving early and taking the trolley to a bar not too far from where we were. Even that place sucked, but at least they had real food - we were starving! We didn't last long here either so we headed home to get a decent night's sleep and when I got home is when I got the news. I had a message on my answering machine, which never happens. I hear that it's the President of the Irish Fellowship and my heart stops. He says he's calling to tell me that I've won and I can't stop laughing and shaking. It was too unbelievable! I immediately replay the message to make sure it was real. Then I call CG to tell her and get her to listen to the message as well. It was a crazy night and sleeping was not an easy task after hearing the good news. And now...now I'm going crazy because the phone number as I understood it wasn't right so I had to email them to get more information, which means waiting until someone checks their emails and who knows when that may be. But that's okay - I'm still excited and now I have so many things to figure out. When can I go? Who do I take? How long should we go for? Where should we go once there? This is going to be so much fun!

*** Update ***

I have been able to get in contact with the Club's president and it is totally legit and I should be getting the tickets shortly!
