Hiding Out
Yes I've been hiding lately. It started out with me being too busy to sit down and blog, but it's become more than that now. I've gotten behind and now I can't decide if it's worth going back in time to get you caught up on my 'exciting' life or just let enough time pass and start fresh with current stuff. Indecision means no decision is made and more and more time passes. So today is your lucky day. I will try to recap in smaller posts throughout the day all that's happened since my last post, which was a whole 10 days ago! Where did time go??
After work on the 1st, I had my first tennis class with a new instructor. Carlos was soooo much better than my last guy. He kept us moving and didn't spend the whole time talking about his students who are 8 and will be world champions one day. He taught me stuff. I found my serve for the first time and it felt so good! I was energized and excited about playing again instead of my usual frustration. And before I knew it, class was over and I was off to pick up CG for her volleyball game. The first part of volleyball is heading to the bar for beer and pizza to get warmed up and meet my new team. I was just filling in for the evening since they were short a woman and was looking forward to playing again. It has been years since I played and I never wanted to get back into it because of the team I used to have. The guys made my life miserable because they never let me have a chance at the ball so I was a little bit of nerves involved that night. Would I be good enough? Would they let me play? Would I have fun? YES! YES! YES! I had the best time with this crew of misfits and felt like I belonged. It was great and they couldn't have been more fun to hang out with. My only problem was that after working on a computer all day, playing tennis and then volleyball, my wrist couldn't take it! It swelled up and started hurting immediately after volleyball to the point where driving was not easy. Initially I thought it was sprained, but it turns out it was just strained from all the stress it was under that day and the only cure was Advil, ice and lots of rest. And thankfully it is better now (for the most part) and I'll be playing tennis again tonight to test it for the first time since that night. Wish me luck!
